Meet The Executive

Chairman - Eddy Sorokowski CPP

Eddy is the ASIS Victoria Australia Chapter Chair and security consultant with Connley Walker Pty Ltd. Eddy has had over 30 years experience in the security industry as consultant and manager with Department of Defence Security, Telstra Corporate Security and Note Printing Australia.

Eddy played a leading role with Telstra Corporate Security during the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Eddy’s qualifications include a Diploma in Security Risk Management and ASIS CPP.

Deputy Chairman - Gordon Latimer CPP

Gordon has had over forty years experience within the security industry. His experience includes at senior and national level management of Fraud Investigations, Risk Management, Profit Management, Retail Security and Security Training.

Some of Gordon's achievements during his security career have included Governor within Her Majesty’s Prison Service, National Manager of Profit Protection, State Security Manager, Zone Investigations Manager, and National Audit & Operations Manager within The Coles Myer Group, General Manager Security Operations, National Risk Manager and Training Manager.

Gordon has achieved numerous qualifications within the Risk management, Investigations, Police Prosecuting and Training. Additionally Gordon is an experienced and currently a licensed Investigator and Consultant.

Secretary - Rachaell Saunders CPP

Rachaell Saunders is the Chief Executive Officer of National Protective Services a company she founded in 1988.

National Protective Services provides a range of security services which include; guards, patrols, alarm installation, alarm monitoring, secured transport, investigations and consultancy.

Rachaell holds a CPP and is a member of ASIS International.

Treasurer - Noel Gurd

Noel has extensive experience in business development, operational management, design and fabrication of specialised security products.

Noel has a proven history in procuring and managing blue chip clientele.

Noel has enjoyed a broad involvement in the Security Industry for the past 25 years and now hopes to contribute to the ASIS committee in positive manner.

Assistant RVP - John Frost

John Frost is currently a senior security specialist within Telstra’s Corporate Security and Investigations group with particular responsibility for investigations and property security matters.

John started his working life as a communications engineer with Motorola before taking on a specialist role with the Commonwealth Attorney General’s Department. In 1987 he moved to the ANZ Bank as Security Engineering Co-ordinator where he was responsible for all aspects of physical security policy, procedures and practices relating to branches and administration and support buildings.

John was appointed to the role of Group Security Manager in 1991 when he became responsible for all of the bank’s security arrangements except IT security policy and fraud investigations.

In 1993 John joined Telstra’s newly re-structured Corporate Security group as Manager, Personnel & Physical Security and has held a number of senior roles since. During this time John has contributed to the implementation of a web-based security incident reporting and management system, the installation of a national access control system for all key network sites, the first digital image-based ID card system and extensive security programs covering the Olympic Games and other major events.

Also in 1993, John gained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and has previously earned three ASIS International professional certifications covering the fields of security management (CPP), physical security (PSP) and investigations (PCI).

John has been a member of ASIS International since 1993 and has had several stints at committee level with the Victoria, Australia Chapter, including Secretary, Chairperson & Chairperson Certification Committee.

Funtions Manager - Danny Trainor

Danny is a founding member and director of Mega Fortris Australia (2005) and has over 20 years of experience within the Security Seal Industry.

Danny’s expertise within the transport and gaming areas has evidenced Mega Fortris achieve success in supplying clients throughout Australia.

When not selling security seals, you can find Danny on the water as he is an avid sailor.

Danny is involved with most of the racing regattas held on Port Phillip and around Australia. Danny is a fully licensed security consultant and a proud member of ASIS, ASIAL and Frontline.

Certification Manager - Keith Wilson CPP

Since July 2006, Keith has been a Senior Security and Crime Prevention Advisor with a Security Risk Management and Crime Prevention Consultancy (Amtac Professional Services). The consultancy also has a training arm known as the International Security Management and Crime Prevention Institute (ISMCPI).

Before entering the consulting arena, Keith worked in government protective security roles with the Department of Defence, as the Principal Security Adviser for the Defence Security Authority (VIC-TAS), and the Security and Emergency Operations Manager Defence Premises Melbourne. Prior to these roles, Keith had three years with the Victoria police and a 21 year full-time career in the Royal Australian Air Force. Keith continues his association with the Air Force in a part-time capacity as an Officer in the High Readiness Reserve (Security Police Category).

Keith has a Bachelor of Business Administration, Diploma of Security and Risk Management, Diploma of Police Studies, Post Grad in Security Risk Assessment, Diploma of Frontline Management, Diploma of Aviation, a CERT IV (TAE) Training and Assessment.

Keith has also completed a host of security and investigation vocational study courses, along with the Board Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Master Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CMAS) programs.

VSIAC Representative - Paul Murphy CPP PSP

Paul has been an ASIS Victoria Committee Member for four years and holds the ASIS certifications for CPP and PSP.

Paul has been involved in the Security and Loss Prevention industry for 20 years. Paul has held the position of the National Loss Prevention Manager for Myer and currently is the National Loss Prevention Manager for Woolworths Logistics.

Paul has been involved in some of the largest ip based CCTV and Electronic Article surveillance (EAS) projects globally and was one of the first leaders to introduce fraud detection through data mining to Australian retail.

Paul currently holds the role of Deputy Chapter Chair. Paul is active in the events networking area of the chapter and represents the Chapter at the Victorian VSIAC re security legislation improvements.

Sponsorship Manager - Adam Szylvester CPP

Adam has over thirty-two years experience within the security industry, commencing his employment as a security alarm technician and slowly working his way up to General Manager of National Guardian Security in 1996. Following the acquisition of this company and a short employment stint with Chubb, Adam joined the ANZ and now holds the position of Senior Manager Security Services responsible for technology and contracting models on a global basis.

Adam has experience and expertise in electronic security systems, guard / patrol services, monitoring centre management, risk management and contract management and negotiations. Adam is a member of ASIS International and holds CPP accreditation and a Diploma in Security Risk Management.
